throughout Obama’s administration AND even moreso after DoD warning, GOP blocked AND obstructed infrastructure spending to shore up levees and dams, because “the black guy was spending THEIR money”, while GOP members placed debt clock counters on their Twitter or Facebook bios!!
THEN… Texas turned around and voted for TWO idiots AND supremacists, BACK-TO-BACK, Rick Perry & Greg Abbott, BOTH of whom oppose EPA, deny climate change and reject FEMA, AND both laughed at DoD’s warning that climate change IS our nation’s biggest threat!! meanwhile, both Perry and Abbott consistently spewed rabid hate of liberals and fought tirelessly to ensure “guns for everyone”. How’d that work out??
and since both Perry & Abbott’s election, both have stood by eliminating safety mechanisms including hazardous condition warnings. voters stayed quiet OR many didn’t even bother to vote against TWO idiots and extremists. look at the third largest city, Houston, now after Hurricane Harvey.
in the case of Hurricane Katrina, levee funding of $3-5-Million was denied by U.S. Congress THREE YEARS PRIOR, while congressional members used 5-7 costly and luxury offices to say “no” from and while putting Iraq war on a credit card. it then cost over $100-Billion to pay out losses from Katrina while lives were shattered.
